How to claim the Rakuten £30 bonus
Use the offer for a planned purchase
- Open the referral link.
Check that the £30 offer is still displayed before creating your account.
- Join as a new member.
Use the referral page and complete the account setup with your own details.
- Choose a participating retailer.
Start with something you already planned to buy. Do not spend extra just to chase a bonus.
- Activate cashback through Rakuten.
Search for the retailer in Rakuten, click through and finish the order in the same browser session.
- Reach £30 of eligible spend.
You may be able to use more than one qualifying purchase within the 90-day period.
- Wait for approval.
The bonus is added after the retailer confirms that the order was kept and qualifies.
What should count as a qualifying purchase?
Rakuten’s referral page says the new member must spend at least £30 excluding VAT and fees. Qualifying purchases must earn cashback and be completed within 90 days of joining.
Avoid relying on purchases that are likely to be excluded. Rakuten’s displayed terms specifically say that Amazon orders and gift-card purchases do not qualify for the referral bonus. Returned, cancelled or exchanged orders can also be removed.
Help your cashback track
- Start the shop from Rakuten’s website or browser extension.
- Turn off other cashback extensions for that purchase.
- Avoid using an unlisted voucher code.
- Empty an old basket before clicking through Rakuten.
- Complete checkout in the same browser session.
- Keep the order confirmation and tracking email.

Are Amazon and gift cards included?
No. Rakuten’s current referral terms say Amazon orders and gift-card purchases do not qualify for this referral bonus.
When will the bonus arrive?
The purchase normally appears as pending first. Rakuten pays the referral bonus after the retailer confirms the order and it is no longer eligible for cancellation or return. This can take several weeks.
What if the offer has changed when I open the link?
Do not assume the older amount still applies. Check the joining page and rely on the offer shown there before completing your account or purchase.
