TfL is offering a free Santander Cycles Day Pass every Sunday in July 2026. The pass includes unlimited rides of up to 60 minutes during the day, including e-bike rides at no additional cost.

How to claim the free Santander Cycles pass

Get your free rides

  1. Download the Santander Cycles app or find a terminal.

    You can redeem the offer in the official app or at a Santander Cycles docking-station terminal.

  2. Enter that Sunday’s code.

    Use CYCLEJULY19 on 19 July or CYCLEJULY26 on 26 July.

  3. Choose a pedal bike or e-bike.

    E-bikes are included, but they can only be hired through the app or with a membership key.

  4. Dock the bike within 60 minutes.

    Wait for the green light that confirms the bike has been returned. You can then take another bike for a further ride.

The important 60-minute rule

The free pass provides unlimited rides, not one unlimited-length ride. Return the cycle to a docking station within 60 minutes to avoid additional charges.

TfL currently lists these charges for going over the limit:

  • Pedal bike: £1.65 for each additional 60 minutes
  • E-bike: £3 for an additional 60 minutes

If you want to continue cycling, dock the bike properly and begin a new ride. Check that the terminal or app confirms the return before walking away.

Who can use the offer?

You must be aged 18 or over and agree to the Santander Cycles user terms. The promotion is not available to existing annual or monthly subscribers, or anyone who already has a pending access period.

TfL says Santander Cycles has around 12,000 bikes at more than 800 docking stations across inner and central London. Check the app before travelling because bike and docking-space availability changes throughout the day.

Can I use the code more than once during the day?
The Day Pass allows unlimited rides during the offer period. Every individual ride must remain within 60 minutes to avoid additional charges.
Are Santander e-bikes included?
Yes. TfL says e-bikes are included at no additional cost for rides of up to 60 minutes. You need the Santander Cycles app or a membership key to hire one.
What if a docking station is full?
Check the app for nearby stations with available spaces before the 60-minute limit. Do not leave the cycle unsecured beside a full station because it may not be recorded as returned.
Can an existing subscriber claim the free pass?
No. TfL excludes existing monthly and annual subscribers, as well as customers with a pending access period.
